The 21-year-old winger joined Southampton from Manchester City in the summer of 2022. Last season he made 34 league appearances for the Saints, mostly as a substitute.
This summer, Edozie joined Belgian side Anderlecht on a season-long loan, hoping to gain regular playing time.
Edozie revealed he spoke to Anderlecht academy player Romeo Lavia ahead of his move and the former Southampton star has been full of praise for the Belgian outfit.
The Saints loanee admits his loan spell at first glance feels like a step backwards in his career, but believes consistency and experience will help him in the future.
“It all happened so quickly,” Edozie told Belgian newspaper DH.
“I played with Romeo Lavia, I called him a few times and he was very positive about Anderlecht.
“At first glance it seems like a step back because I came from the Premier League, but I don’t think so.
“I will have the opportunity to gain time and experience here, which will only benefit me in the future,” he added.
Edozie hopes to impress at Anderlecht this season to fit into Russell Martin’s future plans.
