The 17-year-old Norwegian midfielder is highly rated at Rosenborg, where he has made 52 appearances, scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists.
His progress has not gone unnoticed, with top clubs keeping a close eye on his development in Norway.
Manchester United scouts were reportedly on hand to watch Nypan during Rosenborg’s match against Lillestrom, while Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen have also shown an interest.
Johnson believes Nypan has shown his mental strength by attracting the attention of several top clubs, and points out that not everyone is capable of doing what the young midfielder is doing now.
“He is focused on enjoying playing football every day,” Johnson told Norwegian broadcaster TV2.
“It’s very impressive, it should be, but not everyone can do it.
“A strong ambassador.”
Neban, who has contributed 14 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions so far, has two years left on his contract with Rosenborg.
It now remains to be seen whether United will try to bring the player to Old Trafford in the January transfer window, or whether Arsenal will make a move to lure him to the Emirates.
