As Barcelona prepare to face Monaco in the Champions League on Thursday, Barcelona are assessing their current form in La Liga and should be pleased with what they see.
While Xavi has unsurprisingly laid the foundations for Barcelona, Hansi Flick has taken the club to new heights from a tactical perspective and has done a noticeably better job of connecting with the attacking players, particularly the quality youngsters.
Last summer there were fears that Ansu Fati would leave the club permanently after not playing for Brighton long enough without resolving the issues that led to his temporary departure from Barcelona.
But Flick has not given up on Fati and has backed the 21-year-old, who was once the most compelling teenage star on the planet, just as he is now with Lamine Yamar.
Ansu Fati has been the biggest surprise in Barça’s training sessions from Hansi Flick’s perspective, the latest sign that the former Spain international can be a key player in attack, according to Cadena Ser.
Barcelona need to make sure Fati stays fit; he’s only 21 and has a full career ahead of him. But we can bet Flick will also be there to challenge the young forward as part of Barcelona’s talented attacking plan.
