Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado has stated that he is looking forward to former Liverpool and Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara returning to the club. Thiago began Barça’s pre-season as part of the coaching staff and as assistant to coach Hansi Flick. He speaks German, Spanish and English and has a wealth of knowledge of Barcelona, having worked under Flick.
Thiago had to return to England for tax reasons and left on the eve of Barça’s first competitive match without a permanent contract. However, he has suggested that he could return.
Casado told Guijantes that he hopes Thiago will return and that his tax issues will be resolved in January.
“The relationship with Thiago is very good. He is not with us. I hope he can return. He helps me and the whole team understand what Flick wants.”
Casado: “If I were Deco for a day, I would sign Haaland.”
The 20-year-old midfielder also explained that Flick’s message was clear and that he gave 100 per cent in every task and then used it to his advantage during the match. He also responded that he wants to wear the Barcelona shirt for as long as possible and that if sporting director Deco was there for a day, he would chase Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
Marc Casado: “It’s great. It’s great. It’s great. It’s great. It’s great.”
👉🏻”Whether it’s a 6, 8, 10 or sideways. Whatever.”
Robert Lewandowski is 36 and Barcelona will soon be looking for a new striker. Vito Roque has been called up to be that striker, although his future is in question.
Marc Bernal’s unfortunate injury has given Casado a great opportunity in midfield. He performed brilliantly against Girona, providing a great assist for Pedri, whose main competition is currently centre-back Eric Garcia.
